Phil is used by organisations to help team members work together more
effectively, and to develop their managers. He is licensed to use a variety
of psychometric instruments, which he utilises to help unlock communication
and build mutual awareness within and between teams. All his interventions
are designed for individual client needs.
His own management experience was gained over a 15-year period in the pharmaceutical
industry, in large multinational organisations.
Phil has worked with a large variety of companies since moving into team and
management development. From the NHS to local government, from the IT sector
to insurance, from medical devices to charities and schools - the only
common factor being working with teams and their leaders to make them
function more effectively. He believes in Rosabeth Moss Kanter's creed that
people are not assets to an organisation until you have invested training in
them - until then, and until you empower them, they are merely raw
materials.
Phil’s style is challenging, forthright, experience based and fun. He does
not believe he has all the answers - his method is to use a range of
techniques to help participants to come up with solutions themselves. This
makes the training both memorable and highly practical.
Phil also develops people in one other life skill – he has written a book,
which attempts to teach men how to cook! Check his work out at CAN
MEN COOK .
Together with Peter Cook, Phil provides keynote speaking at conferences and events on subjects such as leadership, personal development and management under the 'TWO COOKS' banner
